Autumn Days and Easter Delights 🍂🐣

Autumn Days and Easter Delights 🍂🐣 - The Flower Crate

With April approaching, the school holidays are just around the corner, and there’s a lovely autumn feeling settling in as we begin the gentle lead-up to Easter.

The mornings are certainly a little darker now, which makes the early walk all the more special. Watching the sun slowly rise over the hill is a quiet joy — and there’s still enough warmth in the afternoons to keep my tomatoes and long peppers happily ripening away in the garden.

It’s very much a season of doing. Mr Flower Crate and I have been busy around the house and garden, ticking off those long-awaited jobs that have been patiently sitting on the list. There’s something very satisfying about finally finishing them - usually rewarded with a well-earned Campari at the end of the day and a quiet “well done us”.

Back at the shop, Easter has arrived in a most delightful way. The shelves are looking particularly lovely this year with some beautiful new additions alongside much-loved favourites.

We’re very excited to welcome some gorgeous new lines, including the wonderful Frankie Apothecary Kawakawa Balm — a beautifully made, nurturing product that fits perfectly with our thoughtful approach to gifting.

Easter is also in full swing with the charming Emma Bridgewater Mini Egg collection, along with some truly delightful treats for both the sweet tooth and the child in all of us. Think Bennetts of Mangawhai Easter rabbits, and the sweetest felt eggs and rabbits from Tara Treasures.

It’s safe to say Easter is looking rather joyful at The Flower Crate this year.

The shop itself continues to bustle along, and we still have the lovely experience of being discovered by new visitors almost every day. I often say that Hamilton still holds plenty of treasures waiting to be found — and Lovegrove Lane is certainly one of them.

Whether it’s visiting us for flowers, rolling out your mat at Sun Salute Yoga, framing a special piece, grabbing a coffee at Space Cadet, or even getting a tattoo at Good Honest — there truly is something here for everyone.

If you happen to be passing through, allow Hamilton East to be your pitstop and come and see for yourself.

And yes… there’s free parking too. 😉
