Spring at The Flower Crate
There’s a little more happening behind the scenes at The Flower Crate this spring, and if you’ve popped in recently, you may have noticed things looking a little different. Or perhaps you’ve heard a drill or two and wondered what on earth we’re up to!
We’re making room for the next chapter of The Flower Crate, and while there’s still a fair bit of building work, shuffling and rearranging to get through, we’re beginning to see the possibilities take shape.
Growing is exciting, but it’s also something we never take for granted.
Independent retail has its challenges, and we know that many local businesses are navigating a particularly difficult time. Seeing familiar faces and much-loved businesses close their doors nearby is a reminder of just how precious our local shopping community is. We feel incredibly fortunate to still be here, doing what we love, and we don't take the support that has brought us to this point lightly.
So, rather than simply making more room, our hope is to make The Flower Crate an even lovelier place to spend a little time. Somewhere you can come for flowers, discover something unexpected, find a thoughtful gift or pick up a few things to make home and garden feel that little bit more special.
Familiar favourites, with a few new faces
Flowers will always be at the heart of what we do, but The Flower Crate has grown into something a little broader over the years. Alongside our seasonal blooms, we love bringing together considered homewares, garden finds, beautiful everyday essentials and gifts with a story behind them.
As we settle into our new space, we’ll be welcoming some exciting new brands while continuing to champion the wonderful makers and suppliers who have been part of our story for a long time. Those relationships mean a great deal to us. There’s something special about watching a small business grow alongside another, and we’re looking forward to sharing more of their work with you.
Expect familiar favourites, a few new discoveries and plenty of things that might make you think, oh, that's rather lovely.
And then there's Christmas…
I know, I know. We’ve only just started talking about spring, and already I’m mentioning Christmas!
But with the busiest part of our year on the horizon, there’s plenty to do behind the scenes to make sure we’re ready for you. And this year, we have some real goodies in store - quite literally - for hanging on, tucking around and placing beneath your Christmas tree.
We’re carefully curating a collection of decorations, keepsakes and gifts that we hope will bring a little extra magic to the season. Think thoughtful finds, beautiful details and those special little treasures that come out of the box year after year.
We’re not giving too much away just yet, but we’re rather excited about this one.

The building work will take a few days and will see us closed from Thursday 15th October to Sunday 18th October (all things going to plan that is!), and there may be the odd bit of dust, disruption and creative rearranging along the way. Thank you for bearing with us while we find our feet in this next chapter.
