Anthuriums, also known as Flamingo Flowers, are native to Central America, northern South America, and the Caribbean.

These beauties come in a vast array of colours, prefer warm, shady, and humid climates, such as tropical rainforests.  With such a variety of colours to choose from you can see why they’re popular amongst New Zealand households.  They thrive in high-humidity areas like bathrooms and kitchens.  They prefer medium to bright, indirect light.

Make sure to water them weekly as they tend to sulk if they dry out, for the best conditions these plants like damp, but not soggy, soil.
