Our Terms of Sale
Please read these Terms of Sale (“Agreement”, “Terms and Conditions”) carefully before making a purchase through http://www.theflowercrate.co.nz operated by The Flower Crate. Last updated 10/01/2024
Pricing
All prices quoted on our website are in New Zealand dollars (NZD). If you make a purchase using a credit card or Paypal your account will be charged in NZD.
Flower Delivery
Flower Delivery Policy
Everything you need to know about how we deliver your flowers with love and care.
We personally deliver all of our flowers and plants within our Hamilton delivery area, and to Cambridge by request only, depending on availability. Delivery pricing is based on a kilometre-based radius from our store and is calculated automatically at checkout.
All our bouquets and flower carriers are wet-wrapped to keep stems hydrated and happy on their journey from our shop to your home or workplace. We recommend placing them in fresh water as soon as possible (ideally within 4 hours) to keep them looking their best.
Delivery Window
Our standard delivery window is between 1pm and 6pm. If you need your order delivered earlier in the day, we’re happy to offer that as a priority delivery for an additional $20, as it means a special trip just for your order.
If No One Is Home
If the recipient isn’t available at the time of delivery, we’ll do our best to find a safe, sheltered spot to leave the flowers. We use our best judgement and take care in choosing where to leave them - however, we cannot take responsibility if the flowers are lost, damaged, or affected by weather after delivery.
For secure properties (such as gated driveways or apartment buildings) where we can’t gain access and are unable to reach you, we’ll return the flowers to the shop and arrange redelivery. A $20 redelivery fee will apply, or you’re welcome to collect the flowers from our store the following day at no extra charge. If you can’t come in personally, you’re more than welcome to arrange for someone else to collect them on your behalf.
Please note: At private addresses, we may leave flowers with someone at the property (such as a partner, family member, or caregiver) if we believe they can safely pass them on. However, at business addresses, we do not leave flowers with colleagues unless they are a named recipient or customer. If the recipient has left early or is away, the flowers will be returned to the shop and a redelivery will be arranged for the following day. If applicable, we will leave the delivery with reception if the recipient is present that day.
Important
We will always do our best to contact you immediately if there’s a hiccup with your delivery. If our first attempt to reach you is unsuccessful, we’ll usually wait a few minutes at the delivery address in case you get back to us quickly. If needed, we’ll leave a voicemail so you know we’ve been in touch.
If a redelivery is required, a $20 fee will apply.
For online orders, please note that we don’t store credit card details (for your security), so we can’t charge this fee automatically. You’ll just need to give us a quick call to arrange payment before we can send your flowers back out.
For phone and in-store orders, we may be able to process the redelivery fee directly, depending on the information provided at the time of purchase.

Plant Delivery
We accept no returns, refunds or exchanges for plants that are couriered.
We will make sure your plant is in optimum condition and wrapped securely prior to leaving the store.
We will only courier plants on a Monday & Tuesday of each week to prevent the chance of it lingering in a courier depot over the weekend.
Mailing List
By purchasing from The Flower Crate you agree to be automatically added to our (e-mail) mailing-list. You can unsubscribe at any point using the link in our newsletter or mailing list emails – you can also unsubscribe by e-mailing us at hello@theflowercrate.co.nz with “unsubscribe” as the subject header.
CONTENT ACCURACY
We take every care to ensure that the description and specification of our products are correct at the time of publication. However, while the colour reproduction of the products is a close representation, we cannot accept any responsibility for any variation in colour caused by the browser software or computer system used by you.
Prices on the site are current at the time of display and subject to variation without notice. We will do our best to display accurate descriptions and pricing but are unable to warrant the site be error-free. We shall not be liable to any person for any loss or damage which may arise from the use of any of the information contained in any of the products on this website.
Provision of Information
When you use the Website to purchase any products you will be required to provide certain information. You agree and warrant that:
- (a) You will not use any false identities or personas and must provide us with your full legal name and current details;
- (b) All information provided by you will be true and correct in all respects at the time it is given;
- (c) You are responsible for ensuring that all information which is necessary to process any uncompleted sale transaction is kept up to date at all times, and will provide details of any changes to The Flower Crate.

Changes to This Agreement
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms and Conditions by posting the updated terms on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions.
Please review this Agreement periodically for changes. If you do not agree to any of this Agreement or any changes to this Agreement, do not use, access or continue to access the Site or discontinue any use of the Site immediately.
